biLine

The two-wire network that Baseline systems utilize is called biLine. biLine systems simplify installations, reduce initial wiring expense and reduce ongoing wire maintenance. Expanding biLine systems is simple and inexpensive.

biLine wire shall be Polyethylene double-jacketed or UF-B UL PVC double-jacketed two-conductor solid core designed for direct burial systems (or equivalent) with one end attached to the Baseline Controller. The biLine is used to send commands from the controller to all the devices in the field. When biCoders and biSensors are connected via the biLine network to the Baseline Controller, the software continually monitors the site and applies water based on soil and plant needs.

The controller communicates with each biCoder and sensor in the "network" much like a computer communicates with other computers in a computer network. Each biCoder and biSensor has a unique serial number. The system recognizes these serial numbers and is able to send and receive data from these devices. When the system wants to activate a valve it communicates with the biCoder and the biCoder sends power to the valve.

Below are several providers of Baseline approved two-wire:

Coleman Cable "Direct Burial Maxi Control Cable"
Paige "Special Irrigation Control Cable - Direct Burial"
Regency "Maxi Cable"
