Sprinkler Controller or... Art?

"IT’S JUST SICK"

When Baseline wanted to create some excitement about their new cabinet lineup, they turned to Custom Bike Builder Chris Olson.  Little did they know just how edgy the art and design of custom cycles really are.

What resulted may be the “sickest” sprinkler controller in the world.

“We make the coolest irrigation controllers on the planet, but they basically look like circuit-breaker boxes,” said Jon Peters, Director of Sales at Baseline.  “We are very excited to break out and make a product that people will be proud to hang on their garage wall.”

Featuring artwork suitable for a custom chopper, the Baseline X-Series Custom Cabinets feature not-so-subtle motifs in flames & skulls, with an undertone of gothic lettering and the Maltese Cross.

“I got really excited about this project,” said Olson.  “It was way outside of my comfort zone, and something I knew nothing about.  My vision was of water and fire – a box engulfed in flames with skull heads shadowed behind the flames. I also wanted the Maltese Cross to symbolize the way these controllers protect your landscape. The Maltese cross originates from the island of Malta and represents a badge of safety.” This badge of safety is still being worn by firefighters today.

Working with his team and suppliers, Olson chose a combination paint and overlay process to implement the project. The results are visually stunning and relatively easy to custom fabricate.

“Using this process, we can create custom, one-off cabinetry to match a client’s garage décor, or we can allow customers to choose from a variety of pre-packaged designs,” explains Peters. “Basically, if you can draw it, we can make it.

While the artwork may or may not be to your taste, Baseline’s irrigation controllers are no joke. Featuring in-ground soil moisture sensors, Baseline’s leading-edge controllers can water your landscape better than any sprinkler timer ever made.  And, if you think that isn’t a big deal, you should know that the U.S. EPA estimates that 58% of our domestic water is applied to landscapes, and that a full half of that is wasted due to over-watering, or watering when it rains.  Baseline’s controllers can reduce outdoor water use by 40% or more, and result in healthier, better looking landscapes.

So, good for your plants, good for the planet, and now not so hard on the eyes.
